Hi Anuj,
I got the response for the below from the T3 engineer after their analysis.
The customer will not be able to get the exact layout they want but they will be able to get a similar one. This is because, when the layout will be changed to the one as required by the customer, the aspect ratios of the ATX rooms will differ and cannot be accommodated. Even done, then from a design and look perspective, the entire thing will be spoilt. They will be able to achieve the layout below though:
If this is acceptable to them then they can do this by setting up User Template on the MLA. I assume they are doing the recording using a recording link to the RSS from the RMX hosting the call?. If this is the case the RMX will dial out to the RSS giving the recording link a name of Recording. The RSS isn’t mentioned in the admin guide however I have done a quick test and this seems to work. The MLA identifies the system (I’m not sure exactly how) as a recording service as it doesn’t send video from the RSS into the conference. It also shows it as a standalone system with a name of “recording” so you can create a template using this information and adjust the layout of this system to apply the desired layout to the conference recording
Here is how you do it…. On the MLA UI select Mange Templates then Add Template. Create a new template as below. It’s important the recording link is called Recording and you don’t select the Generic check box associated with it, if you don’t do this won’t work as desired. The MLA will then only apply the layout then the 2 X ATX and 1 x RPX are in the conference AND the conference is recorded.
To apply the layout select the Config button associated with the Recording link and you will get the layout the customer is seeing in the recording. If you change the layout to the desired grid under 10+ (2and8) then associate the appropriate system to each segment and save it.
Saving this template will mean that all future conference with a single RPX-400 and two ATX-300 systems which are recorded will have this layout applied to the recording, as the generic check box was checked against the ITP systems it doesn’t matter the names of ITP systems them MLA will match the system type. As the generic check box wasn’t checked against the Recording Standalone system it will only be applied if a standalone system with the specific name Recording (i.e. an RMX recording link to the RSS) joins the conference. The layouts on the Telepresence systems will not be impacted it only changes the layout being recorded.
From technical support perspective, this is the max that can be done. But if customer still wants to have it irrespective of the telepresence experience, then get the business impact from the customer and raise it to Polycom via our Sales team. Ticket numbers for your reference are as below:
SR 1-727367591 opened for RMX 2000
SR 1-727470391 opened for RSS 4000
I will now proceed in closing this support ticket.

Upon this confirmation received from Polycom for the RMX ticket also, we will provide you the ticket numbers for both cases and then you need to get the customer's business impact and then take it up with FVC Sales Team and ask them to raise the feature request via the Polycom Regional Sales Team as from Support Team side nothing more is possible.Let us know if you have any queries on the same.Regards,FVC Technical Support Team
